Posted by admin on Friday, 27 August, 2010

By Heather Sobieralski, originally posted on OwningPink.com When the supermodel Gisele made a statement this summer that it should be a law for all mothers to breastfeed their babies for six months, it got me thinking about my own experience with little ones at my breasts. How to Handle Teasing

Posted by admin on Friday, 27 August, 2010

One of the major causes of fighting especially to our boys is teasing. Some of the pupils and playmates of our kids take teasing very personally and they get upset. If you are one of the students or one that suffer teasing from your playmates by name calling this means that our children or the one concern needs to build up tease tolerance. There are negative and untrue thoughts which cause people to become upset when they are being teased. One on these negative teases and untrue thought is “because I am being teased, no one likes me.” While it might seem that people who teased you do not like you is not always the case. There are many reasons why some of our friends and classmates might tease you. First, you react badly and show you are upset so they pick on you to see if they can upset you. Second, some people teased to be “cool”. Third, they teased for the reason that everyone is teasing. None of these reasons has anything to do with whether or not you are liked. Have you ever teased someone you like? Of course, you have. Make sure that we understand that being teased generally has nothing to do with whether people like you or not. (There may be one or two people who for the reason that they dislike you tease you, but they will an exception, rather than the rule.) The second negative untrue thought is because “I am being teased, I am hopeless because some call me stupid, I am stupid.” It is ridiculous t rate ourselves as bad, no good in the eyes of the people simply because someone calls us a name. No one opinion is as important as that. A final negative thought which can really upset you if you are being teased is, I cannot stand being teased, even thought you might hate it. We must remember the old saying that “Sticks of stone can break my bones but words cannot hurt me.” To put some end to teasing, we must do two things: keep thinking to ourselves One – just because they teased me does not mean they hate me. W are likable and capable. While we do not like being teased, we can stand it. Second – Ignore the teasing. Never pay any attention to it. Do not show you are upset. If we can ignore teasing for at least ten days, it will start to go away, however, we must prepared for it to get worse before it can get better. When the teasers see that it has no much effect on us they will eventually stop.

When The Dark Is Not Dark

Posted by admin on Saturday, 21 August, 2010

It was really dark and I was feeling alone. Everyone had gone to bed; some were snoring. There was no noise and sound outside except for the rain and cold. Occasionally I saw flashes of lightning and heard thunder. It would be raining and cold throughout the night, I told myself. Looking around at my house, sometimes I did feel it was too big. It was a double storey terrace house for the 5 of us. Now 2 have proceeded to further their studies, the house looks rather empty……. Sometimes I just sit down and look around, not knowing what to do. Some motivations and positive feelings may help, I told myself, or some walking exercises and outdoor activities to fill the time. Oh! How I miss gardening, now that the backyard is cemented. Yes, a family meal together somewhere will be nice; we just need to confide to one another sometimes. But at the end of the day when the lights are off, again we can feel the loneliness. Yes, absence does make the heart grow fonder……. Oh! How I miss my children. ******* Alone in the dark is never pleasant. And who really like the dark of night? And sleepless night in the dark, and that was what I was. But there is always the Almighty God to confide, I told myself. Dark is not dark after all; the night can be as bright as day. ****** But loneliness is dark and cold. Sometimes people just don’t understand it. But when the dark is gone, the day will come, I told myself and dozed to sleep.

My Mom Made Me Fat

Posted by admin on Wednesday, 4 August, 2010

If it hadn’t been for the Big Macs that Joannie ate three times a week, she wouldn’t have gotten fat.  But, if she hadn’t been exposed while in her mother’s womb to chemicals x, y and z, Joannie wouldn’t have had the propensity to get fat.  And if Joannie’s mom had eaten more sensibly, both waistlines would be slimmer. First Lady Michelle Obama …

Bad Apples and Good Parents: Can Decent People Raise Indecent Children?

Posted by admin on Saturday, 31 July, 2010

I have known so many parents in my life that repeatedly, and habitually; take credit for their children’s good behavior and achievements in life. I have a somewhat contrary view of assuming the acclaim or glory for a child’s success and accomplishment, and this is a view that doesn’t win over proud parents. If a child grows up to be a compassionate, …

Like millions of other young girls in this country, my daughters have been raised with the Disney girls.  My eldest was a long time fan of both Lyndsey Lohan and Hillary Duff and witnessed with disbelief as their girl-next-door appearances slipped into sex symbol and their  lives slipped out of control in a world that seemed to devour them whole. …

Factory Direct Homes

Posted by admin on Saturday, 3 July, 2010

Looking for a home to stay in the beautiful country of Unites States, or are you decided to buy a home that is direct from a factory where we can save a lot without passing from any agent? Well, your search is over for I found a good site that we can buy a Manufactured Homes Oregon as a particular State or any States you want for a comfortable living. Every one of us wants to have a shelter for our own and it is always our priority in life especially if we have a family with us. Having our own home is a good investment because every year the cost of the houses increases and if possible we want to have a home as early as we could. It is very relaxing if we have already our home that we can called totally ours, because renting for a house or an apartment is sometimes a waste of money and that is what we did before when we were not yet decided to buy for our own. Every end of the month when I pay to my rental I always think of loosing money, why? I pay every month but then the house that we are staying with will not be ours at the end of the time. So, if we have chances why not buy for our own so that we can have a comfortable living together with our love ones and our children if there is. For the best place to stay, you can choose any States you want but Mobile Homes Oregon is one of the best. This is the place where my sister-in-law is living and according to her this is a very nice place to stay with and a good catch to have a good business because this region is most soundly populated and an agriculturally productive State than others. So, why find another one try Manufactured Homes in Oregon or we can simply dig this site and we can compare other States that is very accessible to you and you can choose what style of homes you barely wanted to have. For good additional information Factory Expo Home Centers was founded in 1999 and specializes in all aspects of the manufactured home industry. They have several well-established Factory Direct retail centers situated throughout the country, each consistently outperforming the competition. There Manufactured Homes Online operation is designed to provide the same outstanding retail services that there reputable model centers are known for, but with an added edge of convenience. They have professional housing consultants on hand, always ready to ensure that your online purchasing experience is everything it should be; safe, affordable, and satisfying. Think it over have a home now and start for a new life ahead.
